Job description

We bet we can be a great match

Do you want cool projects focused on online sports betting and gaming? Would you like to work on highly reliable systems with low latency, much like the transactional systems of the best financial institutions, but… with fun included? Would you like to work with some of the best Developers, QAs, DevOps Engineers and Project Managers in Krakow?

About us

Working with us you’ll be at heart of the technological revolution of one the world’s most trusted betting and gaming companies. We deal with projects ranging from widgets, desktop or mobile casinos and betting sites… just to name a few. We process 500 online Sportsbook bets per second each Saturday, that’s the same as orders processed by Amazon UK, on its busiest day of the year.

We deal with more than 20 million users and 160 terabytes of data daily. Impressed? You can be sure there are many more challenges waiting for you.

Your role in the team

You will oversee strategic initiatives that deliver business value, overseeing front end solutions at high level. You’ll also support our goals to move from on premise deployments to AWS using cloud native technologies, ensuring high availability of services, and driving down cost. You will own the architecture and design of multiple systems/applications as well as respective technology roadmaps. You will provide recommendations to the business on the general technology direction and help selecting proper technologies to meet customer needs. The tech you build will be used by hundreds of colleagues across our international locations.

You will be guiding three development teams, making sure  implementations follow tech strategy and meets all functional and non-functional requirements. You will be coaching and mentoring junior colleagues and share your experience with the William Hill tech community. This includes collaborating with Architects and Heads of Tech in different channels to agree on solutions that will benefit the wider business.

This is a great opportunity for someone working as a Lead or Principal Developer to step up into an Architect role.
