Job description

You will be:

  • Working with our product teams to deliver high quality IT based business services
  • Managing the successful execution of all releases for your specific channel(s)
  • Liaising with the development, test, project management and 3rd party management teams to understand and resolve any technical or business dependencies to schedule code release appropriately
  • Ensuring key stakeholders, including the relevant service and business teams are aware of release plans and any potential service impact and updated regularly throughout the process
  • Working co-operatively with other Release team colleagues, to drive awareness to the product teams of the wider business requirements, priorities and technical issues that may impact their work in both test and production environments
  • Continually reviewing and challenging existing processes in order to focus on value based outcomes
  • Proactively managing risks and issues, providing solutions and escalating as required
  • Becoming the subject matter expert in Release Management, providing ongoing support and guidance for all Release related activities to your colleagues
  • Forging strong relationships with colleagues across the business
  • Maintaining a strong customer focus in everything you do
  • Having a strong desire and commitment to continuous improvement

We expect you to have:

  • Experience working in a fast paced agile environment
  • An understanding of software release principles and their application across networks, platforms, applications and databases
  • Can take a pragmatic view when resolving problems
  • An eye for detail
  • Credible communicator and influencer, adapting style as appropriate
  • Strong customer focus establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Resilient & can work under pressure
  • Ability to analyse and disseminate information quickly


  • Previous release management experience is preferred but not essential
  • Exposure to development and testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of source control and dependency management systems used in software development
  • Ideally holds a degree in an IT discipline or equivalent
  • Ideally holds an ITIL foundation certificate in Service Management
