Job description

This role is critical to ensuring the accurate and timely execution of accounting and reconciliation processes within the Record-to-Report (R2R) Tower.

 

The position is responsible for supporting the integrity of financial reporting by accurately recording financial transactions and performing thorough reviews within the assigned business area. By maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance, the role contributes to the overall reliability of financial data and supports informed business decision-making.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Accurately input, maintain, and review accounting records for the assigned business area, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
  • Execute period-end close processes in a timely manner, escalating issues promptly to meet Group reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions and general ledger balances are fully supported by robust documentation and are regularly reconciled, with aged items reported to senior management.
  • Continuously review and enhance accounting processes and operations to drive efficiency and eliminate non-value-adding activities.
  • Operate and document controls in accordance with the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), ensuring evidence of control execution is maintained.
  • Collaborate closely with the Centre of Excellence (COE) – Controlling to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for areas requiring judgment.
  • Consistently meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare and submit fully supported balance sheet reconciliations to senior management.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and escalate any instances of non-compliance or Operational Level Agreement (OLA) breaches.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the assigned area by delivering training sessions, conducting process walkthroughs, analysing and resolving issues, and recommending effective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members within the assigned area, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the team lead in managing finance stakeholders, ensuring alignment with RTR processes and timely issue resolution.

 

Ad hoc responsibilities:

  • Engage in continuous professional development by actively monitoring and integrating updates from internal policies, legislative changes, and industry best practices.
  • Interpret and implement regulatory, procedural, and operational changes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing, organizing, and submitting required documentation promptly and accurately.The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree in Accountancy or accounting-related field
  • Actively pursuing CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent globally recognized accounting certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Record-to-Report (R2R) or General Ledger (GL) accounting role, preferably within a Shared Services Centre or a global finance environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is desirable, reflecting a commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Experience working in complex, multinational business environments is an advantage.
  • Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles, particularly double-entry bookkeeping.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data validation, financial record keeping, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient in accounting software and reconciliation tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying discrepancies, investigating root causes, and implementing effective resolutions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and consistently meet reconciliation deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
