Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be an important part of a brand new Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) for William Hill as part of the Accounts Payable team, in the centre of Leeds.

About us

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be experts within a leading FTSE 250 company. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your role in the team

You’ll report into the Accounts Payable Supervisor as part of a team of 7. This includes moving to a new Purchase to Pay process using Oracle Fusion based in our St John’s office.

Primarily you’ll be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing and recording of accounts payable transactions. You’ll resolve issues and queries on a timely and controlled basis. You’ll take care of all invoice queries to enable adherence to payment terms. You’ll reconcile priority supplier statements against AP ledger and Goods received Not invoiced (GRNI). You’ll be responsible for correctly processing invoices in line with the P2P process and seeking any additional authorisation when necessary. As part of your role you’ll report any unusual transactions to senior management and ensure that all transactions are monitored and accounts are kept up to date and reconciled. You’ll make sure that the GRNI control is kept up to date and reconciled and that you adopt an ethos of continuous improvement on a day to day basis.

Skills Needed

You’ll need to have worked in an Accounts Payable team in a large organisation with a solid understanding of Accounts Payable and the principles and processes that go hand in hand with the job. You’ll understand bookkeeping and reconciliation and be able to comprehend and manage financial records. It is essential to have used large ERP systems and exposure to Oracle fusion would be ideal. You’ll be able to work effectively across many work streams and handle various deadlines. Industry experience is a bonus but we do appreciate the level of talent outside the sector and are open to the new ideas someone can bring to the William Hill. You will have the freedom to make changes and suggest improvement, you’ll be self-motivated and accountable and want to exceed goals and continue to evolve with William Hill in this executing phase in Leeds.

William Hill in Leeds.

Right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK sit both of our Leeds offices. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live. A hub for tech, digital and gaming companies – there’s also five universities right on our doorstep. And away from work, we’re in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and of course have got a competitive sports scene with Leeds United and Yorkshire Cricket and Rugby just up the road in Headingly.
