Job description

Whilst we may be a FTSE250 business with a turnover of over £2 billion we are far from a company that stands still – and that includes our finance function.

About Us.

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your Role within the team

You’ll lead the Business Intelligence team for Retail and you’ll lead the use of data across the retail business as a whole. You’ll own the Qlikview strategy in retail and its purpose within the wider BI plan. You’ll prioritise requirements across the business and support end users to understand how and when they use information. Your team will ensure data is cleansed and fit for purpose whilst supporting the analysis of trading performance in the business. You’ll encourage your team to review large data sets with a flare for finding and resolving any data accuracy issues along the way.

You’ll establish and maintain automated data processes and provide supporting documentation. You’ll ensure that your team tracks and produces data relating to KPI’s and further insight into identifiable trends. You’ll manage stakeholder relationships, gather requirements on business reporting and ensure that success indicators are identified and delivered on against expectations.

You’ll lead the streamlining of reporting and analytical methods and continually look at ways to analyse, model and visualise data. You’ll deliver actionable recommendations from the concise visualised dashboards your team produces. You’ll create and maintain all associated documentation for data sets and reports that are used within the team.

Skills Needed

You’ll have led a team of analysts, data scientist or similar. You’ll have a passion for sport and an intellectual curiosity into what drives top line performance. You’ll have managed projects and stakeholders and be able to dig into the root cause of problems and providing the best possible solutions. You’ll have a good understanding of the tools available in the market and have an opinion on building BI Infrastructure. SQL experience in managing large multi table databases including creating views and stored procedure is essential

What we offer

We’ll welcome you onboard with a generous car allowance, 25 days holiday (not to mention 8 bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday), healthcare (or a cash alternative), an attractive pension package, income protection and life assurance. As an added incentive, we offer a rewarding bonus scheme too. And if you’re a fan of saving money and keeping fit, our handy Metro Card loan and healthy gym discounts will be well received.

William Hill in Leeds.

Right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK sit both of our Leeds offices. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live. A hub for tech, digital and gaming companies – there’s also five universities right on our doorstep. And away from work, we’re in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and of course have got a competitive sports scene with Leeds United and Yorkshire Cricket and Rugby just up the road in Headingly.
