Job description

Use AI and machine learning to break down business barriers

It’s not often that you get chance to harness technology that can initiate real change. AI Ops is helping us analyse large volumes of real-time digital data – making it easier to solve hard problems. We’re one of the world’s biggest betting and gaming companies, so imagine the amount of data we deal with every day. Your strong maths skills and love of technology will help us look to the future and change our IT operations for the better.

Your role in the team

It’s a steep learning curve, but we’ve made a great start and there’s a lot more fascinating work to do. With expert training and support, you’ll help to manage the performance, availability and capacity of our IT resources. You’ll get to know all areas of our technology stack and our global business. With creative use of data, you’ll forecast future business needs and improve system performance, availability and capacity.
This is a really varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be able to explore the power of advanced machine learning by developing new algorithms and making our services even better and smarter.

Skills needed

We’d like to hear from people with work experience in machine learning modelling in distributed computing environments, plus solid technical skills in deploying capacity planning, performance improvements or system monitoring tools.
We’re also happy to train you if you’re starting out in your tech career and hungry for knowledge. We’d like you to be degree educated (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related subject. You’ll need some coding experience in Python, and other technologies like R, Java or Splunk would be a bonus.

We’ll help you get to grips with machine learning, but we’re interested in hearing about your interest in
machine learning models, data mining techniques and inference algorithms such as decision trees, association rules, clustering, classification, regression, topic models, stochastic sampling and collaborative filtering.

What we offer

We have a great office space in a vibrant part of Leeds City Centre – right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live - a hub for digital and gaming companies with an active tech community. On top of a good salary and package, our benefits include pension, healthcare, bonus opportunities – and a cycle to work scheme (ideal for burning off all the pizza we eat.)
You’ll join a team who keep evolving with technology and love what they do.

About us

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.
