Your role

 

This role will suit an expert in SRE and DevOps with a focus on Observability and Automation tooling, integrations and best practices. You'll lead our push in the SaaS space and will be able to inspire and influence at all levels

You'll lead Observability and Automation initiatives where you will drive the enterprise tooling adoption and manage the overall monitoring, alerting, capacity and performance of our products and services.

You'll take ownership of creating an Observability and Automation vision, strategy and roadmap, and communicating this culture across the immediate team and wider business. This involves coordinating the AI-OPS strategy to further automate our operations.

 

You collaborate with your Team Leads to develop and meet our ambitious growth and technical goals and maintain evolving technical standards. Working with other Heads of Engineering, Architects and Engineering Leads will allow you to align and ensure component and platform commonality across the business

You'll lead and mentor a talented team, encouraging an ‘Automation first’ and ‘infrastructure as code’ approach to everything we do, including accelerating adoption of our RPA platform. Your creativity and passion will enable you to evangelise Observability and Automation tooling, practices and innovations

Pager Duty, AWS

 

Any exposure to the following would be useful

CI/CD, DevOps, GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, IaaS, Microservices Toolchain, Kubernetes, docker, Linux

 

Skills and experience

 

This role requires an overall understanding of Monitoring and Observability, SRE, Automation and the ability to work with Product Teams to innovate, design and take a conceptual ideas through to delivery. You're a self-starter - hungry to get involved in delivering impactful change to William Hill. You're able to architect, build, drive and advocate the innovation developed. You have considerable breadth and depth of technology experience, particularly within a digital environment.

 

You're able both to work at a cloud and infrastructure architecture level, and to empower your teams to work to the highest possible standards. You do this with positivity and collaboration - engendering trust and confidence across your stakeholders and peers.

 

We need to see evidence of your ability to work in a matrix environment balancing the priorities of a range of stakeholders. Plus, you'll need to be results-driven with a passion for delivery and for driving successful technology solutions that support the business’s ambitious growth objectives.
