We're looking to recruit a Finance Manager (Retail Investment) to be responsible for providing financial leadership across Retail operations, ensuring effective budgeting, cost control, shop performance review, and delivery of strategic initiatives, while acting as a key business partner to drive profitable growth.

 

This role is a 6 - 12 months' FTC to cover maternity leave.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for Retail operations, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial targets.
  • Oversee and control Overheads spend, ensuring costs are managed effectively and deliver value to the business.
  • Review and challenge shop performance metrics, including profitability, contribution, and cost efficiency.
  • Analyse actuals vs budget / forecast, providing insights on variances, risks, and opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to support shop portfolio reviews, including closures, refreshes, and investment decisions.
  • Drive performance monitoring through meaningful reporting on key value drivers, revenue, and cost lines.
  • Support business cases for operational initiatives, ensuring robust financial challenge and governance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting tools to enhance decision making across Retail.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • A Finance background and be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Excellent financial planning and analysis skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with commercial acumen, with the ability to link operational performance to financial outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities; experience with financial systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels with a good attention to detail. You'll be able to solve an array of problems and not be satisfied with a job half done.
