Your role in the team
The Finance Specialist is responsible and accountable for delivering accurate and timely reports and analysis as required by the Group Tax team. The role requires understanding and application of the processes as mandated for the role. A knowledge of accounting standards and tax accounting relating to taxation is desirable, but not a pre-requisite as there will be plenty of in-house training.
What you will be doing:
• Tax returns and regulatory report validation and review
• Assist with the calculation of tax payments as guided by the Group Tax
• Review the tax returns as prepared by the Senior Finance Analyst, submit and file the tax returns for recommendation to the Group Tax on a weekly, biweekly, quarterly, or annual basis or as requested by the Group Tax team
• General accounting, Tax Analysis, and Issue Resolution
• Prepare audit reports as requested from time to time
• Manage a network of third party, indirect tax advisors who input into the tax compliance
• Assist with responding to any queries arising from the tax authorities, including supporting external advisors with obtaining factual information and supporting documentation
• Project and ad hoc activities such as conduct trainings on Shared Services Tax processes, provide technical coaching to Finance Analyst
Who we are looking for:
• Graduate of Accountancy or accounting-related course.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in the field of accounting, finance, or audit. Experience in International Taxation is an advantage.
• Highly accurate and detail orientated in processes undertaken and work produced.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Preparation and in-depth understanding of the concepts of taxation
• Exposure to international working environments.
• Ability to recognize potential issues and make suitable recommendations to resolve the challenge.
• Organizational skills - applicants for the tax analyst role must be highly organized individuals with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to ensure completion within assigned deadlines
• Follow-through skills - this skill is also essential for them to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion
• Sound analytical skills - they require strong analytical skills to create highly detailed tax reports and accurately review filled out tax forms
