This role will give you a platform to raise your profile as an AML expert and you'll hold a Personal Management Licence, as a nominated officer.

You'll lead the AML function within William Hill Retail and ensure compliance with our licensing objectives, dealing with internal and external requests whilst working closely with all members of the Compliance team in relation to general compliance related matters, customer due diligence, and any other matters arising.

About us

We are a true global entertainment business with a balanced approach to work and play that will give you the flexibility to achieve your professional and personal goals.  We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment, that values equality and diversity - where everyone can contribute at the highest level and have their voices heard.

We want everyone who works at William Hill to feel like they belong.

Your role in the team

Reporting to the UK Director of AML, your responsibilities will be varied, and the work will be fast-paced in order to comply with the ever changing regulatory landscape of our industry. As well as managing and developing a team of AML officers, you'll liaise with the Group MLRO and the Regional Managers and teams across our Retail estate, as well as with external enforcement agencies when needs be.

We'll rely on your subject matter expertise to provide strategic business guidance on highly sensitive matters.  You'll

set the agenda for AML training within William Hill, maintaining knowledge of all AML regulations and potential changes affecting our retail operations. This work will support us in adapting and improving AML processes to adhere to changes in regulation.

You'll make sure AML reporting is current and up to date in order to protect the business from high risk or suspicious customers. You'll lead your team in handling external customer data requests from police or other agencies and dealing with internal queries about customers. Stakeholder management will be a key part of your role - you'll be responsible for keeping Retail and Omni-channel leadership teams and commercial teams up to date with key information.

Skills and experience

Experience of working at leadership level in a regulated, customer focused industry is essential.  We'd like to hear about your experience and achievements in AML, Compliance, Fraud or Risk, and we're looking for you to hold an industry recognised qualification (ICA / ACAM) and have a thorough understanding of the UK regulatory landscape.

Previous experience of working in retail sports betting and gaming is desirable, but we recognise that great AML and Compliance knowledge can be gained in a number of different environments. It's important that you have a keen interest in sport betting and gaming and can help us balance our passion for the customer experience with our regulatory responsibilities.

You'll need to be confident working in a fast moving, procedural based environment, and attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes would be beneficial. If you can tell us about your experience handling requests from law enforcement and other external agencies, and customer profiling, that would be beneficial too.

Your excellent communication, stakeholder management and motivational people leadership skills will set you apart. You'll need to have experience managing large functional teams, motivating and developing people to go one better.
