When it comes to the procurement of our goods, systems and services, there’s far more than just the bottom line to consider. With serious buying power comes the opportunity to turn good into great – and that’s where you could make your mark as our new Head of Category for HR and Professional Services. (HR / Professional Service / Legal / Insurance / Treasury / Financial Services / Travel Management)

Transformation is afoot in our Procurement function, and we’re expanding to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic business. Online is really gathering pace, Retail is bringing innovation to the betting shop experience, and we’re making great strides into new international markets. Coming into a brand new role working directly for our CPO and part of a best in class function, you’ll be able to put your stamp on our relationships with key suppliers and look for ways to add real value.  As you’re well aware, there is so much more to do than save money – you’ll be in a position to introduce new ways of working and innovation, and to engage leaders in defining the right approach to best in class procurement.

 

Your role in the team

 

 

Of course all this is done through building great relationships. As a senior procurement professional, you’ll be an effective business partner and a skilful negotiator.  This role is ideal for a Category Manager looking to make a step up in terms of responsibility, remit and overall profile.  This is a hands on role that will mean you will be accountable for setting, selling and implementing the category strategy as well as all sourcing activity.

We work at pace, we’re customer focused, and we have high expectations.  You can expect autonomy in a high profile role which will let you push the boundaries. There’s scope for international travel too.

 

 

Skills needed

 

 

As well as extensive category management experience with a track record of significant achievement, you’ll bring us a proactive, tenacious approach and the desire to work with colleagues and suppliers to do the right thing.

 

HR and Professional Services experience is preferred but generalist experience is also very welcome.  More important is your tenacity and desire to push the boundaries and be part of a great team where opportunities for learning, development and promotion will be immense. We recognise that excellent procurement skills can be gained in lots of industries (not just betting and gaming) so we’d like to hear about your achievements and what makes you stand out.
