Job description

Driving excellence in Retail compliance

This role can be Leeds or London based, including a hybrid working pattern

Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Compliance, this is a unique opportunity to support and enable compliance commitments and standards across William Hill’s UK Retail business.

About us

We are a true global entertainment business with a balanced approach to work and play that will give you the flexibility to achieve your professional and personal goals.  We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment, that values equality and diversity - where everyone can contribute at the highest level and have their voices heard.

We want everyone who works at William Hill to feel like they belong.

Your role in the team

You'll support William Hill’s Retail business objectives and operation by ensuring activities meet regulatory requirements such as licensing objectives, LCCP, codes of practice and relevant guidance, including technical standards as appropriate. .  This will involve liaising closely with stakeholders to embed a compliance culture, delivered through appropriate training and awareness.

Using your broad compliance knowledge, you'll support business functions to remain compliant through maintenance and establishment of suitable policies, procedures and processes. Your guidance will ensure business initiatives and projects are successfully delivered in a compliant manner by providing expert advice.

We'll look to you for assurance that identified changes in regulatory requirements and the compliance landscape are suitably implemented by relevant business functions and are reflected in policies and procedures.

You'll manage relevant incidents and support the investigation of cases raised to the business from external bodies, ensuring relevant detail is scrutinised with appropriate regulatory rigor and suitably presented.

Skills and experience

We need you to bring detailed working knowledge and understanding of the Gambling Commission licensing objectives, LCCP and related guidance. We'd like to see your successes in a similarly complex and scaled operating environment.

In-depth knowledge of retail / Licensed Betting Office regulations and compliance would be the ideal background for this role, allowing you to quickly establish credibility and relationships with your stakeholders and external regulators.

You'll have exemplary leadership qualities – you're comfortable working with cross-functional business partners to support the interpretation and application of all relevant GC regulation and guidance to operating model, practices and standards.
