Here at evoke plc our Internal Audit team delivers independent, objective assurance and advisory services to help protect and strengthen the Group’s control environment. We work across functions and regions to identify risks, test controls, and make impactful recommendations to support a culture of transparency, accountability, and improvement.
For this role, we're looking for a Leeds-based enthusiastic person with experience in audit, risk, finance, or compliance, either in practice or industry. You'll have a relevant professional qualification (or working towards one), such as ACA, ACCA, CIA or CIMA.
Based in our brand-new Leeds office (one day a week) , you'll support the effective delivery of risk-based audits across the business by assisting with planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities. You'll ensure that key risks and controls are assessed in line with the Internal Audit Plan, while developing core audit skills and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting in planning audits by gathering background information, reviewing policies and procedures, and supporting risk assessment
- Performing fieldwork, including walkthroughs, control testing, data analysis, and evidence documentation under the guidance of the lead auditor
- Contributing to the drafting of audit findings and recommendations with clarity and accuracy
- Participating in stakeholder meetings and interviews to gather relevant audit insights
- Supporting the follow-up of audit actions to ensure timely and effective implementation
- Maintaining high-quality workpapers in accordance with internal audit methodology and professional standards
- Collaborating with audit colleagues and business contacts to ensure efficient, well-coordinated audit delivery
- Keeping up to date with company processes, regulatory expectations, and emerging risks relevant to your audit areas
- Actively contributing to audit process improvements and team knowledge-sharing.
Who we are looking for:
- Based in Leeds, with experience in audit, risk, finance, or compliance, either in practice or industry with a good understanding of internal control principles and risk-based auditing
- Good analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and build technical knowledge over time with a relevant professional qualification (or working towards one), such as ACA, ACCA, CIA or CIMA
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; exposure to audit tools is a plus.
