Job description

Reporting to the Director of Product Development; you will be responsible for developing high quality software end to end and is involved in all aspects of software development, from architecture to design right through delivery of the code, testing and deployment support.  Other responsibilities include: 

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure software development methods utilize best practices and maintain high quality, security and performance.
  • Protects intellectual property and source code and adheres to company source code management processes and procedures.
  • Identifies architect solutions making use of relevant Open Source technologies
  • Actively participates in Agile processes to provide feedback to improve team delivery and performance
  • Meets deadlines and ensure quality and security is of high standards
  • Help maintain a culture whereby optimum quality and performance is delivered.
  • Supports colleagues within the Technology team, be a part of a department culture that fosters a multi-skilled environment
  • Establishment of effective and professional relationships with all levels of William Hill employees 
  • Promotes a positive image for William Hill within the industry and community

What You Will Need: 

  • 3+ years of experience as a PHP Developer in an Agile production environment
  • Experience working with teams of 5+ developers
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or other technology related discipline is preferred
  • Developed applications with Laravel Framework
  • Object oriented design experience
  • Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines.
  • Experience with Angular/JavaScript
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM and /or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Familiarity with LAMP stacks and near real time data services
  • Experience with SQL is preferred
  • Experience with Redis and Node.js is preferred
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
