Job description

At William Hill in Gibraltar, we pride ourselves on building an office culture that is inclusive, fun and enables everyone to achieve. Joining us as our Payroll SME, you'll play a very important part in this. It's vital that everyone gets paid the right salary at the right time - but this role is so much more. You'll be become a trusted advisor to our employees, a valued colleague to teams across our global business, and an ambassador for William Hill in the external reward and benefits space.

About us

We make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we thrive in a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition to promote safer gambling.

Your role in the team

As well as looking after our monthly payroll, you'll own our local benefits and reward schemes. You'll be responsible for all the detail of monthly HR reporting and dashboards, including starters, leavers, maternity, paternity, exceptions and sickness. We use Easypay, so this will be your tool for managing your work. This includes all aspects of the employee life cycle from starters to leavers, and all the milestones in between. You'll need to rely on your expertise of calculations and deductions, as well as your knowledge of tax regulations.

You'll be our liaison with the Gibraltar government and tax office on a range of subjects, queries and legislative change. Negotiating local benefits and maintaining relationships with suppliers will be part of your role too.  Within William Hill, you'll work closely with the UK Pensions team, Reward team and of course your colleagues in the People / HR function - both locally and in our global offices.

Skills and experience

Accuracy, detail and diligence are at the core of your skillset as an experienced payroller. We need you also to be analytical, comfortable  interpreting data and generating reports. It goes without saying that you're good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information.

From day to day you'll find yourself working with colleagues at every level up to the Exec team, so a confident communication style and the ability to tailor your approach to suit your audience are essential.

Experience using Easypay would be a distinct advantage.

What we offer

In addition to the benefits you expect, like a generous pension and healthcare, we’ll welcome you on board with 25 days holiday (not to mention 12 bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday). You can also look forward to a rewarding bonus scheme and healthy gym discounts. What’s more, our sports and social committee are on hand just to make sure that it’s not all work and no play.
