Your role in the team


You will manage a range of projects with significant technical elements, multiple inter-project dependencies and a wide range of stakeholders. You must be self-motivated and outcome driven, working closely with key suppliers, other Project Mangers, technical resources and Architects across multiple work streams to ensure that project delivery is aligned to business targets. The role will deliver strong financial governance, dependency management, resource planning, stakeholder management, project execution and service transition. The candidate must have extensive ‘hands on’ project management experience and possess a commercial focus and good technical awareness.

Main accountabilities:


Project Lifecycle

  • Take full ownership for driving project initiation and definition from Product requirements
  • Ownership of more than just the development lifecycle, focusing on end to end delivery:
    • Business readiness plan
    • Estimations and forecasts
    • Capability deployment
    • Data migration
    • Customer Services training / updates
    • Operations preparation
    • Any necessary undertakings to move from project to BAU
  • Facilitation of all change:
    • Impact statements
    • Solution options creation and presentation
    • Financial impact and adjustments
    • Effective change management to delivery plans, people and scope
    • Ensuring stakeholders have enough information for decision making
  • Project Planning and Management
    • Thorough and effective RAID management
    • Thorough dependency mapping and management between teams, departments and 3rd parties
    • Ensuring realistic project plans are prepared and maintained throughout the project lifecycle
    • Providing clear direction to the project delivery team and clear communication to other work-streams about impact to their areas.
    • Maintaining a strong customer focus when managing your projects.  
    • Improving service delivery by driving service improvement initiatives while maintaining plans to ensure they are scoped, funded, prioritised and delivered accordingly.
    • Proactively managing the project lifecycle ensuring agreed timescales, budgets and targets remain on track.


Stakeholder Management


  • Building strong relationships with and between key stakeholders and influencers.
  • Managing key stakeholders expectations through regular updates and feedback and communicating changes to plans as appropriate.
  • Demonstrable understanding of different types of communication and information based on different recipients – with experience of working closely with senior stakeholders.
  • Maintaining a strong customer focus in everything you do.


Finance / Documentation / PMO


  • Assisting and advising business managers in all aspects of project management in particular budgetary control and identifying risk.
  • Ensuring monthly financial plans are kept up to date. 
  • Experience in calculating cost of delay, ROI, staff costs throughout projects etc


Dependency and 3rd Party Management


  • Building strong working relationships with relevant business departments, resource providers and third party service providers.
  • Experience with financial management of 3rd parties (SOW, invoices, etc)


Skills needed




  • Extensive experience gained in IS/IT Project Delivery Management, in a fast paced commercial environment, managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Agile experience is required, and experience of delivering Agile software development projects, both large and small.
  • Strong customers focus recognising internal and external customers, establishing effective relationships.  
  •  Excellent working knowledge of the entire Project Management/Quality Framework/Lifecycle.
  • Proven track record in creating a high performing team that is customer focused and aligned to the long term business requirements
  • Extremely confident in operating in an environment of change
  • Focus on Project delivery and objectives while dealing tactically with operational issues
  • Strong customer focus – demonstrating a thorough understanding of the customer needs
  • Professional management skills including communication and networking skills to establish relationships within the company and with 3rd Parties
  • Displays Leadership qualities
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills
