Scrum Master - Caesars Digital

I’m interested

Leeds, UK

Job description

We’re broadening our horizons – are you?

It’s an exciting time to be involved with Technology at William Hill. We’re a global betting and gaming company, growing into new markets all the time. We wouldn’t be able to do this without a talented technology team – and that’s where you come in. There’s a lot going on #behindthebet.

About us

With William Hill now a part of Caesars Entertainment, we plan to lead the pack by delivering products our customers love to use! As Caesars/William Hill, we operate sports betting in 18 U.S. jurisdictions and have partnerships with the biggest leagues and media companies in the country including, the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, ESPN, and CBS Sports. Marking a major milestone in American sports history, we opened the first-ever sports betting venue within a professional United States sports facility, the William Hill Sportsbook at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Partnerships like this are positioning our business to skyrocket as sports betting continues to expand across the country and our customers get a taste of the action.

On the Technology side, we’ve built an entire Sports Betting platform operating on desktop, mobile and in Sportsbook venues from the ground up in less than 3 years. Through continuous improvement and data-informed product development, we are adding features so that our customers have the best product experience in the market. Our Product Technology team is comprised of the brightest minds in Tech, and our culture of autonomy and decisiveness gives the team the freedom to deliver without constantly seeking permission to take action. Our technology teams are based across Europe and the US, with bases in Leeds, Krakow, New Jersey and Las Vegas. We chart our own path and innovate as we create the next generation of products. We’re looking for hard working team players that want to work with the best of the best and join the biggest name in Sports Betting as we take over the U.S. market!

Your role in the team

Working in the Caesars Digital Product Development team in Leeds, you will be contributing directly to the Retail Tech platform. You will work closely with the squads, investing your time where you feel it’s most needed. Measuring & sharing metrics such as cycle time, velocity accuracy, business value you’ll understand how our team performance is trending & what changes have caused an impact.

Here, you will introduce frameworks, tools and techniques to the squads where it makes sense without relying on following scrum to the letter. You’ll be supporting the squads in continuously improving their way of working, covering all areas such as behaviours, processes, tooling, skills, etc as well as coaching and supporting Product Managers in their day to day leadership of the squads.

Collaborating with Scrum Masters in and across the other functional areas you’ll ensure we have consistent working processes where it matters (e.g. baseline Definition of Done). Here, you’ll support Product Managers, Tech Project Managers and the General Manager in understanding velocity of the squads to aid planning and facilitate cross-squad agile ceremonies.

As a Scrum Master you’ll be responsible for identifying organisational impediments and contributing to coordination and resolution both within and across the functional areas.

Skills Needed

·       Extensive experience working with a variety of Agile/scaled frameworks (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, DAD)

·       Experience in a coaching/Scrum Master or equivalent role

·       Knowledge of or experience with Jira ticket management systems would be ideal but is not essential

·       Experience facilitating sessions fully remote, mixed remote/on-site and fully on-site is desirable

·       Digital publishing industry on consumer facing products is a plus

What We Offer

Right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK sits our Leeds office. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live. A hub for tech, digital and gaming companies – there’s also five universities right on our doorstep. And away from work, we’re close to the Yorkshire Dales and of course have got a competitive sports scene with Leeds United and Yorkshire Cricket and Rugby just up the road in Headingley.

We take the safety and wellbeing of our employees seriously, especially at this challenging time. We have put in place robust Covid19 measures and are supporting our new employees with a smooth remote onboarding and training programme to make you feel welcome and part of our team.

We have welcomed our teams back to the office and have a balanced approach to office and home working.  Our employees have the opportunity to work from home up to 80% of the time with 20% of office time built in to ensure we get some face-to-face collaborative team time - and the chance for a coffee and a catch up!
