Scrum Master

I’m interested

Leeds – St Johns

Contract type

Job description

Let’s get things done shall we?

As a Scrum master you’ll pull everyone together in an Agile environment to deliver major projects as well as quick wins within the retail sector of our business.  You’ll bring a natural ability to get things done and help our development teams discuss the best way to do things whilst encouraging them to challenge and improve systems, without conflict and disruption to delivery

About us

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your role in the team

Your facilitation expertise will support various development teams, product owners and project managers to get stuff done when working on various enhancements, improvements and new implementations.

You’ll remove blockers to delivery by identifying the right people who can make things happen, whilst helping us build an environment where problems are raised and resolved quickly, and efficiently, without fuss or delay.

Amazing your stakeholders every day will come easy as you guide the teams on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and how to get the most out of self-organisation.

Skills needed

We’re looking for you to bring us strong facilitation experience from a Scrum/Agile development background, where you have a history of getting stuff done.  You’ll be experienced in conflict resolution, continual improvement and increasing transparency.  We also want you to show us experience of dealing with the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (such as Burndown technologies, Retrospective formats and handling bugs etc.).  If you could bring knowledge of other Agile approaches such as XP, Kanban, Crystal or FDD that would be really helpful.

What we offer

We’ll welcome you on-board with 25 days holiday (not to mention 8 bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday), a rewarding bonus scheme, healthcare, an attractive pension package, healthy gym discounts and a staff benefits scheme. Plus, our season ticket loan and handy Metro Card loan will save you money getting to work and getting around town. And if you see the journey to work as part of your fitness regime, you’ll just love our Cycle to Work scheme.

William Hill in Leeds

Right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK sit both of our Leeds offices. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live. A hub for tech, digital and gaming companies – there’s also five universities right on our doorstep. And away from work, we’re in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and of course have got a competitive sports scene with Leeds United and Yorkshire Cricket and Rugby just up the road in Headingly.
