Job description

We bet we can be a great match!

When we say cutting edge, we actually mean it. At William Hill, you can work on highly reliable systems with low latency, much like the transactional systems of the best financial institutions, but… with fun included.

About us

You’ll be at the heart of the technological revolution of one the world’s most trusted betting and gaming companies. We deal with projects ranging from desktop or mobile casinos and betting sites… just to name a few. We process 500 online Sportsbook bets per second each Saturday, that’s the same as orders processed by Amazon UK, on its busiest day of the year. We deal with more than 20 million users daily. Impressed? You can be sure there are many more challenges waiting for you.

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior BI Developer to work alongside our Senior Leaders and provide them with a suite of insightful reports and dashboards. You'll have a proven track record in the collation, delivery and presentation reporting to senior management and be as equally comfortable with presenting or leading a wide network of stakeholders as they are with the manipulation of data. This is a real opportunity to learn and understand our business as well as our data.

You'll develop in a wide range of both data and reporting related opportunities, which include:

• Working with a wide network of Senior leaders to gain a clear understanding and shaping of their strategic, tactical and reporting objectives

• Understanding the synergies between the various functions and our wider business to highlight key trends behind the numbers

• Advising on the Executive reporting roadmap to further improve understanding

• Produce bespoke dashboards to key stakeholders and enrich them via ingesting multiple new data sources.

You'll have advanced SQL, SSRS and data visualisation skills (Power BI or equivalent). You’ll work as part of the wider Business Units to gain a full understanding of the factors that impact operational and financial performance. You’ll demonstrate the flexibility and focus to handle multiple projects at once, manage timelines and ensure the quality and accuracy of outputs. You'll work in an organised and visible manner, setting and owning the delivery of our development roadmap and use your capability and experience to engage both senior stakeholders and colleagues alike.

What we'd love to see from you:

Advanced data visualisation skills (ideally Power BI, but Qlik, Looker, Tableau also valuable)

Advanced SQL, SSAS, SSRS skills

An understanding of what makes dashboards and reporting engaging for end users

Experience of working in a fast paced environment with line manager responsibilities

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

Focused and detail-orientated. The ability to identify and trace data quality issues and ensure accuracy across outputs and reporting

What we offer

Our benefits package is competitive and offers a range of flexible options.  In addition to the standard 25 days’ holiday, you'll get an extra day off for your birthday. If you're looking for long term career development, our global business is the ideal place to establish yourself and make an impact.

We offer a balanced approach to office and home working - now and for the long term future. Therefore, we’re offering our employees the opportunity to work from home up to 80% of the time with 20% of office time built in to ensure we get some face-to-face collaborative team time - and the chance for a coffee and catch up!
