Your role in the team

 

You'll take ownership of end to end data architecture design for data warehouse and big data solutions. Our data model design includes Data Vault 2.0, Dimensional, 3 NF and No-SQL techniques, ETL, ELT, real-time data ingestion and API based integration. Your work will support advanced analytics and AI/Machine Learning capabilities.

 

We'll rely on you to provide technical and thought leadership, strategic thinking and architectural direction on data projects. You'll have the autonomy to define and communicate commercially aware architecture designs for data solutions in accordance with data design authority governance and standards.

You'll work closely with project teams and other stakeholders to meet the projects requirements aligned with architecture standards - this will involve identifying operational and delivery risks. Your expertise will enable you to provide governance on data architecture for business functions, data standards, and target operating models for data activities.

 

Collaborating with Data Science and Engineering teams, you'll share best practice for building data pipelines. In partnership with  define and manage policies and programs for data stewardship and custodianship  legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices.

Skills needed

 

We're looking for an established Data Architect with extensive experience with Relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including document or, graph databases. Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, Google Big Query, SQL Server is a plus. You'll need to be an expert in data modelling methodologies and techniques (Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional) plus tools and automation frameworks (Erwin or Wherescape)

 

In general, your technology experience should include cloud services (AWS / Azure) as well as object-oriented/object function scripting languages (Python, Java, Go, C++) and big data tools (Spark, Kafka). This role will suit you if you've been hands-on as a developer or engineer and progressed into architecture / lead / principal roles.

 

You'll need to be able to challenge confidently and manage stakeholders effectively, using diplomacy, and drawing on your experience to translate technical detail into language that can be understood by a broad audience.
