Job description

William Hill UK and Ireland CX and Insight team is looking for a Research manager/Senior Research Manager to join the team. If you have experience from client side and agency side and are looking for your next challenge, this might be it!


We’re looking for a bright market researcher who has a deep understanding on the best practice of methodologies with experience on extracting the key insights from data. Alongside this, stakeholder contact is also key. You’ll work across a matrix delivering research and market intelligence projects as well as liaising with internal teams (products, marketing, corporate, data team, retail and online…). You’ll report directly to Research Lead and be working closely with a research executive you’ll Line manage  as well as working closely the rest of the Insight/CX team.


This role is a vital part of our team that leads strategic research and insight projects across the business. You’ll carry projects through from inception to delivery back into the business and play a supporting role in making sure insight is feeding action.


You’ll help shape the strategy with a focus on measuring brand, comms and advertising performances as well as market, competitor trends and consumer research. You’ll contribute ideas to an ambitious team and will always seek out new way to deliver better insight solutions and improve team efficiency. You’ll be working with stakeholders across the business, online and retail projects and be overseeing a junior/research exec, mentoring and helping them develop in their role.


What we’d love to see from you


You’ll provide a passionate and rational voice of the consumer someone who is able to work with different part of the business and deliver according to the audience. You’ll be comfortable working with tracking projects and scoping, designing and running research projects in-house or with agencies considering the time, budget and importance.


You’ll also be able to take a business need and work out the research plan and reporting without little support, be comfortable data mining and able to filter insight from data sources.


Managing our research initiatives to deadlines without supervision and on budget and interrogating the data to bring out the insights and make sound recommendations is important.


You’ll also have:


•        Experienced and creative PowerPoint user

•        Expert survey design

•        Competent user of Excel, data software such as Q or Web reporter, scripting platform such as SurveyMonkey, Typeform, Qualtrix

•        Not afraid to tackle few projects at a time, sometimes, you’ll have to attend focus groups that may be in the evenings

•        Knowledge of the betting industry is preferred but not essential

•        Mentoring and line management experience is desirable.
