Why make the move?

With significant investment in technology, a fantastic opportunity has opened up for a C# Developer to join one of our backend application development teams.  The Trading Systems team is a full stack team who work closely with the core services and customer facing, portfolio teams to deliver best in market software; our motto is ’fast and easy’, which we take seriously both from a product and an engineering perspective. Be part of a team, where fun, smart, passionate Developers are focused on delivering applications and services with performance, reliability, and scalability in mind.

While predominantly a Microsoft shop, we’re dedicated to using the most progressive tech we can to deliver the best outcomes for our clients; having recently extended our capabilities to include Kafka, ElasticSearch and Redis. If you can bring something new that destroys our previous thinking, we want you in our team.

We’re specifically looking for a champion for our journey towards Microservices, working closely with the solution architect as an integral part of one of our development teams you’ll have the opportunity to help guide the technology choices and implementation decisions on our path to service nirvana!

You’ll have your fair share of hurdles, some of the older code you’ll see will be far from perfect but we now have the drive and the people to get there.

Some of the challenges you and your team may face: understanding and implementing complex sports and racing trading business rules and workflows across a large number of applications and services, dealing with highly performing sports and racing feeds and extracting complex logic from SQL Server stored procedures to help extend the capabilities of our other engineering teams.

More About Us…

William Hill Australia has a raw and quickly evolving culture. We are a Sports and Racing Company. Most of the team is new, and the systems we deal with have been evolving slowly for a long time, and rapidly for the past year (as the team has grown).

We are an agile shop, culture and attitude is critical, and we’re looking for enthusiastic people driven by success. If you join, you will be working alongside great Product Owners, Senior Developers and QA analysts, yet you will have a voice, as there are many opportunities to influence our direction.

We have great offices (with in-house barista), at a top location opposite Town Hall.  Apart from the great views, free drinks, fruit, numerous TVs with sports playing 24/7, frequent company and team events, there are many opportunities for self-learning: conferences, training & budget for reference books.

You must have Australian Permanent Residency to be eligible.
