In the Discovery & Experimentation team we are committed to building advanced products and systems that are used by millions of people worldwide – and we’re pretty proud of being able to test 3-4 new experiments per week . Our systems are highly reliable and resilient with low latency. In fact, it is like the transactional systems big banks might use, but we think it’s a bit more fun here at Grand Parade.  

We’re embracing a DevOps culture already, having used Agile at Scale for many years before. Our team in the UK Product Engineering team collaborate with the Product organisation and work in self-organising configurations that enable them to overcome implementation difficulties with ease.

Your role in the team

  • End-to-end leadership and management of the team with a focus on delivery and team morale
  • Contribute to development standards & best practices and ensure developers adhere to them
  • Participation in all phases of SDLC, working on design, implementation & documentation of solutions in collaboration with developers and architects
  • Oversee the QA area to ensure tests are aligned with the solution and complement tests written by development
  • Represent the team and communicate non-technical and technical requirements to appropriate audiences
  • Drive improvements in KPI's (code quality, defects, performance, security, resiliency) and ensuring technical debt is managed effectively
  • Foster a DevOps mindset and making sure CI & release pipeline being set up for all applications delivered
  • Support the production environment for products and services delivered by the team during office hours
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the team through regular 1-to-1 catch ups, support their professional development and build adequate career plans with each individual
  • Support with staffing & recruitment activities

Skills needed

  • Professional development experience in frontend or full-stack development 
  • Strong sense of ownership and proven leadership experience (formal or informal)
  • Experience in DevOps activities and delivering web applications to the production in an enterprise will be a huge asset
  • Experience in automated software testing through unit/functional/integration test suites
