Your role in the team

  • Delegation of development tasks to the developers.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the software, ensuring technical debt is managed effectively (avoid creating it & remove it whenever there's opportunity).
  • Take responsibility for the product and your contributions to it. Review code and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support production environment for products and services delivered by the team during office hours.
  • Recruitment of developers & continuous improvement of recruitment process.
  • Be involved in the design process of programs, working closely with solution architects and senior developers in your team.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternative technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure tests are aligned with the solution and complement tests written by development.

Skills needed

  • Highly experienced Java development
  • Good understating of the JVM
  • Excellent design and architecture skills in OO software technologies.
  • Practical knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Build and deploy large scale systems
  • Ability to mentor other members with best design and coding practices
  • Experience in developing highly scalable REST microservices
  • Push technologies (Websockets)
  • NoSQL technologies (Hazelcast, Redis)
  • Experience in devops activities (AWS, k8s, Terraform, Docker…)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Gitlab pipelines).
  • Experience with monitoring & logging technologies (New Relic, Splunk or similar tools)
  • Experience in automated software testing through unit/functional/ integration test suites.
  • Hands on Linux experience.

The role is based in Gibraltar where you’ll balance your time between our engaging office environment and working from home. Our teams are based in multiple international locations, so you’ll need to be prepared to travel when required.
